my disappointment w/ w3 social is in its unoriginality. yes, there's so much to learn from successful w2 platforms, but it's not enough to iterate on the business model. eg: -WC = X+ -Zora = IG+ is it too much to ask for innovation in both tech and UX? the former enables new possibilities for the later

The broken parts haven't been fixed, but we have tacked on the parts that blockchain enables (namely identity ownership & earning potential). I wonder what thinking about w3 social from the ground up looks like. Would we still land here?

I don't think we would. For example, I keep hearing about identity as a primitive for innovation. Why isn't WC more focused on building around that? WC should be a Pokedex for the FC network. Directories, profiles, awesome messaging, communities. Instead, we get a feed and hear about how there's not enough good content

Makes me wonder if we (the users) are part of the problem or if this is solely on the platform. I tried to use farcaster in the vision of how I'd wanna be social but it all fell flat and the response was more "your content isn't good enough" as opposed to "lets build in your vision" ...but it ain't my protocol so...

the team is absolutely opinionated on the type of behavior that they want to see (twitter shit). i came here bc it was anti twitter, but now the platform is exactly what i didn't want to use. the whole better content thing is insulting and extractive

For me, as a creator interested in not talking about crypto and blockchain all the time, I was excited to join. I may have been a bit too early for "culture" to exist but I wonder how far away we are from that. I guess all we can do is try

Culture specifically around media? Tbh I'm not sure this will ever be the right environment for that unless it becomes better at empowering cozy corners
