It's Friday. Middle of November. What did you get accomplished this year and what do you want to accomplish next year? Something I've been doing is making seasonal or quarterly presentations to myself. I used to do monthly but switched it up to be more sustainable. These presentations to myself map out my goals

They also summarize the goals I achieved so when I look back I can see how much happened because sometimes it feels like a year came and went and you don't really know what happened. Your psychology at times is programmed to make you feel bad, but when you can say "Wow I did x and x and x!" suddenly you feel better

Things that you forgot about in March become points of pride again. I encourage you going into the new year to maybe do a 2024 recap. I use canva but it doesn't have to be pretty. Have a page that recaps what lessons you learned this year, then one that goes month by month and think of 3 things you did.

Then map out your plan for 2025. You can have a page for professional & financial goals, personal goals, and relationship goals. I like to do a page with everything I hope to do, and then do a top 3 for each category. Once you've done this you can use a planner or calendar to check in and hold yourself accountable.

I can say that even if you don't do it all, you'll still do more this way. By having to take stock of your life and declare what you want, you're making yourself aware of what you want to work towards. Looking back on my 2024 goals, I've done 7/9. That's pretty freaking good.

It's interesting to look back from time to time and realize that you forgot writing certain things and yet you still accomplished it. My biggest thing for next year is that I want to build a sustainable business with film. I have enough to live without worry, but I want to "make it" professionally.

I want my graphic novel to finally be illustrated (at least first 5 chapters) and to write a modern romance novel that I either self publish and I do for love of the game or that I try and get published. Personally I want to continue losing weight and getting mobility back after foot surgery in June.

Relationship-wise I want to see my parents more and travel more with my fiancé. I want to be better as a friend when it comes to making an effort and checking in with people. And in the last few months of 2024, I want to start laying the groundwork for all this. There's no starting bc it's Jan 1. Start today.
