What’s a reasonable alternative? I think we will see new technology eventually but not sure what immediate use case could make Discord irrelevant. Teamspeak / Ventrilo -> Discord happened largely due to Discord offering free service with the same tech.

What’s the main reasons you can’t stand Discord? Coming from a gamer background who had to purchase Ventrilo serves Discord makes complete sense. I don’t think that means it makes sense for crypto.

I think the problem is that it's structured around orgs, not actions. Take events— I have to check an individual channel inside each of my communities to see them. I think a better UX as communities scale on top of crypto would be to have one composable source of truth for each action (chat, events, voting, etc).

Agree. Discord would be a lot more attractive to crypto communities if all the DAO toolings were integrated into its UX. But we can't do this permissionlessly (e.g. build a third-party client), which is why it's frustrating.
