Been playing with Solana a lot more lately, but price quotes are sluggish, 50% of my trades fail, trades take ~15 seconds to complete, and I have to break my trades up into much smaller increments to get them through. Any tips on how to get a better experience here? Moved my slippage up to 1% and that helped.

The answer seems to be much higher slippage. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of low gas fees? In fact you in up paying a lot more in slippage than if gas was $0.10.

Yeah low gas fees are negligible if slippage is high. Slippage will mostly depend on amount of liquidity though. Basically depth of books, combined with speed of execution. A lot of sol tokens prob have really thin liquidity which is why you have to set slippage high

It also depends on which sniper bots you use, when I trade with Jupiter always got failed transactions, but on my fav bot, hardly any failed transaction(wasted gas fees) despite I set to slippage just 1-5% and 0.001 Sol for gas fees, strange but true...πŸ€”
