Said differently, its possible that getting (a version of) the flywheel to work is a direct effect of making correct funding decisions. Not in terms of "most eyeballs reached" but more like "objectively high quality grants".

How do you think we attract more high quality and exciting props and people into the community? many of us have ideas on what that looks like but most importantly I feel that we need a strong voice or exciting alligned ambassadors to reach outside of the few hundred people in the community that are already here. We have hundreds of incredible executions but no meaningful way to share outside of the usual channels.

I think we want to lean into the knowledge that ecosystems regulate themselves well - in our case, that’s through governance, amplified through culture. I wouldn’t be supportive of having a relatively centralized opinionated group making decisions over who is worthy and who not. That’s part the whole point of governance. Also, even in tightly managed “centralized” orgs, there are cracks and black holes 🕳️ where funds are simply drained. Potentially even more, because the lack of visibility and transparency.
