The job market may be weaker than it seems.

According to The Wall Street Journal:
The U.S. economy created over two million jobs last year, but a growing number of unemployed individuals are struggling to return to work.

By November, more than seven million Americans were unemployed, meaning they were jobless and actively seeking employment.

Over 1.6 million of these unemployed individuals had been looking for work for at least six months.

According to the Department of Labor, the number of people searching for work for this extended period has increased by more than 50% since the end of 2022.
