Roboto took over from Open Sans at Google and at the time seemed very lit by comparison

but did grow to be tiresome. then Google Sans came out and saved us from Roboto

It feels like I’m reading Dollar General corporate memos

In a vacuum I think it looks fine, but with enough UI elements on a screen it becomes inescapably Material Design which now reads as clunky corp software.
