was talking about masculinity / femininity and associated energies yesterday in the water during a surf with @nonlinear.eth (yes, i needed to include those details) and we stumped ourselves. are there any qualities or traits that are exclusively masculine or exclusively feminine? we think no.

I took a class on this called “Masculinities” in school (looking at men’s issues using feminist frameworks). U and @nonlinear.eth are absolutely correct. There are none, which is why gender is a performance That’s why I use they/them pronouns, I refuse to be put into a binary of only masc/fem traits 😁

‘tis also why the “masculine/feminine urge to..” memes are so painfully juvenile and completely missing the forest for the trees

I think they’re funny 😄 but everyone has a different relationship with their own gender and how they perceive gendered memes. I can accept most perspectives unless they’re radically radically left or right

while there’s a possibility of humor, I think they reinforce the dark ages’ stereotypical lens to the constructs and performances of gender in the weak minded populations

And I wouldn’t say weak minded, just different. I try to reserve moral judgement and use balanced language when speaking about points I believe in, because I believe we’re all different and learning from eachother. It’s important for me to create an inclusive environment for everyone to learn from eachother 😄

🫡 a good point (tho I wasn’t passing moral judgment, it was more grasping at undeveloped or underdeveloped curiosities and introspections 😅)
