crypto's main product today is giving retail investors hopes and dreams of becoming wealthy

poor people -> more demand to make money on the internet -> more crypto volume -> more paper wealth -> higher crypto prices

and lower rates

Fair opinion - I’d say probably not correct 😇

Reason being - main crypto prices are already heavily tied to general market sentiment 

Sure that can disconnect - say Trump winning and focusing all his rhetoric on crypto 🤷‍♂️ but w/o major reason - we move as they move
