I may be the person whoโs most excited for Channel Memberships Hereโs why๐ Iโve long argued that the current iteration of channels feels more like topic tags than Communities. You choose a topic when casting and then your cast goes to people interested in that topic. Community is different. Community is a group of people organized around common goals. Layer on onchain and itโs: common goals + collective ownership! A big part of our vision is that every channel member is a member-owner with skin in the game. When you come to a channel community in a couple weeks youโll be prompted to buy a membership via Fan Tokens โ which gives you access to the channel, partial ownership of it, AND shared participation in all rewards earned by the channel. This is the way.

All channels will require membership once the new version launches in early October

So the protocol is now controlled by you and your project? There was some agreement between farcaster and airstack? I won't want to continue here if it continues to become centralized and gated like that, honestly. And I have plenty of skin in the game already

or create more of a no channel casting meta? I can see your point, thought I also like the current scope where I can cast across multiple channels without deep connection. communities take work, often a function of time. and thereby are somewhat limiting in the number of communities one can participate actively in. I'm still up for the changes, and look forward to how they continue to shape the energy here, wouldn't be here if I wasn't interested in experimentation.
