one thing on my mind today is what the u.s. election means for X and therefore for Farcaster It’s clearly a big win for X and will bolster X as the place to be for cryptotwitter banter and conservative takes Whereas prior to the election it was less clear how Elon’s X experiment was going So what does that mean for Farcaster? imo it means Farcaster needs to lean harder and faster into programmable transactions, mini apps, and tokens. Bull market is coming which means more trading and more transactions. Farcaster can own that space. But key is tangible success stories. Apps that got tons of tx volume on farcaster. Tokens that took off on farcaster. People who made zillions on farcaster.

I agree partially. We can build all the developer legos in the world. Transaction UX that is buttery smooth. Decentralized channels. Better SIWF. Distribution “plumbing” that is 10/10. But ultimately the # of daily active users with a funded wallet is what will drive developer adoption. So need to figure that out.

Hmmm Not sure I agree. People will “fund those wallets” when other people are making money. Happens every bull market. People go where the money is. We need to help people make money. Making money is the #1 utility in a bull market.

Right, but we’re not in a bull market yet. Could be tomorrow, could be 2 years from now.

yea i agree too. I'm looking for a way to advertise/promote w/o necessary catering to an algorithm. And that's been missing here. (Moxie earn looks amazing by the way)

I’m not sure about that. Certain people fund wallets during a bull. Sure. But it ain’t mainstream consumers. There’s still a massive lack of trust in crypto. Maybe that changes with a “US btc reserve” ala Lummis (not sure that’s a great idea) but otherwise, I tend to agree with Dan. We still need a way to build trust in crypto with mainstream consumers and provide them consistent reasons to fund wallets. That’s when the flood gates will open up. And it’s not bitcoin hitting $100k. If anything, thats even more dangerous/detrimental for mainstream adoption, because we all know it’ll eventually correct and then people will lose $ and write off crypto for good. Happens ever bull. There has to be another way besides “number go up”.

Yes, and - for FC to attract the users we need to scale this up to even 1M DAU it needs to have ways to make money on culture not just casino. Otherwise we end up where X is but (still) smaller but more financialised.
