I don’t think people just come into crypto to make money

Sure, everyone wants to make a bag, but they want to do that while also being part of systems change in areas that matter to them

The nihilists are a loud minority, but aren’t accurate representatives of the industry imo

Yeah I agree - what I meant when I said “come in” is someone actually starting to be part of the industry in an intentional way 

The dopamine hook is often money for sure, the decision to plant a flag is usually more than that though, and it’s tiring hearing people shill the nihilism thesis again and again that all this has ever been is about gambling and making a bag (which I disagree with)

think you’ve got it slightly inverted 

since the og class (more ideology) i think most expressly come to make money and then get tech pilled & fall in love w the better-future vision

when I came to crypto I saw the possibilities for realizing my idea and finally understood how all the plans can be combined into one. 

yes, at first there was money, but then the idea became. 

the funniest thing is that I am no longer involved in crypto as such, but the community is now super important
