i agree, but let's take for example politicians: they can be loyal to each other but have far less trust

True. Politicians often build loyalty through fear. Startups typically don't have that influence, nor should they want it. Trust is it. You're in the trenches together.

Long answer: Trust is a two way street - both sides must work to continuously earn and maintain it. When someone breaks it, hopefully the other party has the wearwithall to approach the situation in a non-combative, productive manner, and hopefully the person who broke it has the humility to acknowledge the shortcoming and move on. Unfortunately humans be humans, and often miss the mark on their own ideals and spiral into fear driven interactions.
