I disagree, if part of those profit making sources flow back to the non profit for research.

How about raising a bunch of grant funding as an early stage climate tech company for instance. Then raise a ton of VC money thereafter?

Yes @beantown that’s why the legality surrounding the issue is less clear. But on strictly moral terms, openness was well understood and vigorously communicated to be an integral value of the organisation
