A long-ish riff on what it’s been like to be me-as-a-service: behzod.com/blog/me-as-a-service/ Towards the end, I share some questions I'm thinking about and would love feedback on.

Thanks for sharing this @behzod, I love the reflection! Your quadrants are interesting put that way, we do end up pulled towards engagements in the top right, and I think there is lots of valuable space in the lower two, but many Indies struggle to price and negotiate these arrangements.

"What configurations have you seen work well (or work poorly) in your own practice?" In staff aug situations, I put energy into coaching other developers from the client org. I enjoy this so it's easy, but some may dispute the time spent. They are not "the buyer" but they have influence and can help with retention.

Your diagram presents a great mental model for indies to understand the different options available and how they can use their current position to shift around their activities to keep things spicy and fresh. I expect most indies feel like they need to choose one and focus but that isn't the case at all.
