A long-ish riff on what it’s been like to be me-as-a-service: behzod.com/blog/me-as-a-service/ Towards the end, I share some questions I'm thinking about and would love feedback on.

I just published Yet Another Year in Review - Year 03.5 https://behzod.com/blog/yet-another-year-in-review-year-035 This is a personal reflection on my professional activities that I write for myself, and share in hopes that it can helpful to others (especially indies, solopreneurs, and small business owners).

I'm teaching a new course on "effective customer conversations" this fall: https://www.reforge.com/effective-customer-conversations/2023-10-23 As I'm refining the content, I'm curious: - Where do you feel like you struggle the most when talking to customers? - Where do you wish you had more competence or confidence?

A more useful lock screen feels like one of the sleeper hits of iOS17.

While Threads is interesting as the first large-scale example of porting a social graph to a different "network," I feel like most of my enjoyment from new apps has been discovering new people. Glass, Retro, Farcaster, etc have all expanded my world rather than created redundancy.

“Is X like sleeping?” This is a question I’ve found myself often asking when I get stuck. https://behzod.com/blog/is-x-like-sleeping

Finally took this idea out of speaker notes and gave it a home. https://yetanother.studio/blog/the-mistake-almost-everyone-makes-when-doing-user-research

Any NYC folk have a space or recommendation for a space to host a <100 person event?

I have a few free weeks coming up in June in between projects and want to do a solo trip to clear the head. Would love recommendations for places you went that shifted your perspective, brought clarity, or helped you reconnect to yourself.

I can't tell if it's age, the current macro, or something else... but I continue to find myself drawn into direct conversations and group chats over broadcast social media. Hard to beat social for serendipity, but the real juice seems to be in the DMs and group chats. Maybe it always was?

As someone who doesn’t live in LA, I forgot how weather-dependent people’s moods can be. The sky is gray and everyone walking around in Santa Monica looks beaten down.

It's wild to me how long we tried to make the process of providing feedback on documents live within the constraints of a document itself rather than building better feedback mechanisms. Doing this kind of work in Miro, especially alts of text blocks (out of frame) feels much better. https://i.imgur.com/7214MmD.png

NYC-casters: What are your favorite jazz spots in the city for a cozy December evening? Ideally looking to see a trio/quartet at a place with good drinks.
