This job posting to be one of the first lecturers at the Network School is giving me all kinds of feelings. 😩😫😫😫😩 I’m seeing it while I happen to be taking my daughter to visit colleges today so it’s hitting extra hard. While I try to formulate my thoughts, check it out and let me know what you think https://jobs.ns.com/33918

@adrienne as a young woman well in her 30s now haha coming from developing countries and had the ability to learn and study abroad I would say, the best thing that an 18 yr old can do is travel the world. Go volunteering or work part time in some area of the world where they don’t know. Is the best on hands experience, kind of two year gap before deciding to get to university and get a loan. My parents mentality before was getting into good uni and then getting into a great job. Now those times are over, the question should not be how to be a good employer and wait for the pension. They can figure out later on what uni they will go, or even if they don’t go is fine. Let them follow their own curiosity without the pressure of anything!

Totally agree travel is invaluable!! I don’t think natural curiosity is fully developed in all kids at that age though. For some definitely absolutely yes, for others though they’re still finding their way and the structure of school isn’t the worst place to be There’s so much opportunity today and so many paths to take
