Every time I hear the term "risk-free rate" it drives me crazy. That is an insane term. Can't believe we've let it spread this far.

Yes but no. If you knew the lowest risk rate available for a currency, you would quantify that risk and subtract the premium to get the RFRR, which means it's not the same thing.
