Before I got into tech, I didn’t know there were so many people whose only concern is money and status. I knew that was important to people and rightly so, I just didn’t know it could be the only thing

i was once asked by someone i respect deeply in tech what motivates me

i said service, helping people

the reply was “oh come on, what is it really?”

lol disillusioned me

I’ve worked at the huge banks and now I run IT (including Service Desk) for a health company and it feels great knowing I’m at a company that’s helping to improve lives. 

Helping ppl is a very legitimate reason to motivate!
