Does anyone still have all of their downloaded music from before streaming platforms were a thing?  I have an external dedicated for it, ive managed to preserve all of my pre-streaming mp3 files since 2006ish.

Going through that is always so fun

Oh I always downlaoded hard copies and saved it off apple music.  Mainly because it wasnt downloaded from apple 👀 ... ZIP files. IYKYK

Yo, apple music rekt all my digital downloads over time. I do have a spool  loaded with CDs from the late 1990's in a box somewhere.

Yeah I’ve got 85 gigs of mp3s so if the cloud ever goes offline I’ll have all the oldies I want

haha nahh. its organized by artists, then within each artist folder is a a folder for every album - thankfully super organized.

Its an obnoxious mix of Genres - so glad younger me took the time to organize it and keep transfering it from hard drive to hard drive. like 100gigs  I think

but ya. mail me an external at least 100gigs and ill copy and send it back haha

I still have MP3’s I used to use on Winamp from 1997!

I have an old iPod from like 2005 that still works and has all of my old stuff on it 🫣

If you could see the traveling these files have done and the initial harddrive where it all started youd be impressed. I think it was like a 25 or 50 gig external HD, as my collection grew it went from HD to laptop to HD to Laptop and over the past 15 years I have it organized by artist and album on my SSD. very blessed.  I spent a couple hours last night going down memory lane

I would make archives of my music when I was a teenager but I’ve since lost any and all thumb drives with them

oh yeah.. I have all of those in a hard drive, an old 180 gb iPod.. and probablby a mac somewhere, but not sure if the hdd in it would still be workiing.

Yea I got some still. But nothing like it was in its prime lol. Still jam it as well.
