Hello, I'm Japanese. In Japan, vegan food isn't very common. It's often seen as a specialty product or found in niche stores catering to health-conscious individuals. If you're looking for such products, they're actually easier to spot because being vegan is often their main selling point, and they're frequently labeled in English.

hey thanks! so if I come to like a random coffee shop in Japan, they won’t have an oat milk option to go with a latte for example?

Yes, if you randomly enter a coffee shop, you'll find that most places don't have oat milk on the menu. As a trend, shops with newer exteriors are more likely to have younger owners compared to those with older, traditional exteriors. Therefore, there's a higher possibility that you'll find the menu items you're looking for in these newer-looking establishments.
