One way is to make it less like a business that wants to quit/be sold into a lifetime company that solves the problem people have in the best possible way without focusing too much on profits.

love the energy but probably doesnβt make anyone who joined for equity payouts pretty happy - which is a problem for retaining talent at challenging juncture

Yeah it's definitely not easy to go forward when many people joined in only to get payouts later.

Another idea is to sell to someone else and then start a new company that's there for a product and for a lifetime, from the ground up, not another VC funded startups destined to be sold later and make a few people rich in the end.
