I never really had a bona fide design job so I don't have a sense of salaries - has anyone thought the same? Seems like an interesting discussion https://www.reddit.com/r/graphic_design/comments/1d5r6ml/design_salaries_might_not_be_worth_it_anymore/

dude from reddit is just pessimistic, you gotta go entrepreneurial way to get money, whatever field you’re in otherwise you’ll only get what other people are willing to throw at you and where economy is going there’s very little to get productized agencies help sell services a lot I think

Market is pretty saturated too Anybody who had a copy of Photoshop Elements 2 in 2002 has been marketing themselves as a "designer" - hell I was one of them πŸ˜‚ I guess a similar situation applies to photography

could be, since I quit my prev agency I've been only thinking about design through a productized service lens otherwise yeah there's probably over a million of those agencies that you can to reach out to and the one I've worked at had to reduce prices to win clients and do more for it: daily updates and regular meets

agencies are on the way to becoming commoditised because they're impersonal - a strong personal brand can never be commoditised because it's unique
