Any tips on how I can resurrect and re-season a cast iron pan? Tried avocado oil in the oven but didn’t seem to do anything

I rejuvenated my cast iron pan by calcining it on the hob with salt. To do this, put the pan on the fire and pour a thick layer of coarse or medium salt, turn down the heat and leave it for 20-25 minutes. Remove the blackened salt by wiping the inside of the cast iron pan with an oiled cloth.
