I had this conversation like a year ago with my old college roommate. We came to the conclusion that God is becoming "cool" again, and that a lot of millennial turned away not because a lack of faith but because of wanting to be socially "cool" more than devout in faith. And for some reason it was seen as cool to be atheist for the last decade or two.
