In my 20s, I told myself it’d be silly to pay someone to change my oil and wash my car. In my 30s, I told myself it’d be silly to pay someone to mow my lawn and clean my house. In my 40s, I will pay as much as I can to have more time with the people I care about.

Makes sense. Ideally as you grow, your resources change. When you're younger you tend to have more time than you do money, but as you age, you hope to acquire more money but you're also losing time, so the value of each shifts. So shifting how you use each should also happen.

100%. I remember when I was younger and my dad would take his car for an oil change, I was so miffed. I would *never* pay someone to do something I could do myself I always said lol
