Farcaster is a single-tribe network, not a social network. Big difference.

A single-tribe network is a better name for what I was calling* a 1-network. It's a social network where there is only one tribe. There isn't yelling or squabbling to the same extent because people have been pre-filtered on values. * See: https://thenetworkstate.com/on-network-states#0-network-1-network-n-networks

With multiple Farcaster clients, we might have multiple parallel single-tribe networks. Taking a radical example: a client filtering people who have DonaldTrump NFTs vs. a client filtering people who have JoeBiden2024 NFTs. You might also have one metaclient where you can see everyone, like on Twitter.

Feels like this will only be true whilst the network is small. At 10k it’s highly aligned based on @dwr.eth’s acceptance criteria - but as a network grows it naturally fragments

are the pre filtered values just people who don‘t yell or squabble? It would be interesting to run an anonymous poll to see just how diverse the views of casters are

A form of unbundling?
