I think it’s bullshit. Putting a bunch of billionaires in advisor roles like this is self serving. Any funds saved from cutting foreign aid (or any other social program for that matter) are going to disproportionately benefit the wealthy through senseless tax cuts for the rich and large corporations. The super rich didn’t get to where they are by virtue of their generosity or altruism; they got there by exploiting those below them. I don’t see that changing.

My general question is if this or any of the DOGE recommendations will actually benefit the poor and middle class. Will we see an expansion of services? Will we see policies that overwhelmingly benefit them? My guess is it goes to a top heavy tax cut similar to what we’ve seen with the Trump tax cuts.

The money used for aid does not necessarily come from taxes. This is just a populist move.
