Currently reading this Makes a very compelling case that UBI would pay for itself. When people experience less resource scarcity they literally become smarter (perform significantly better on IQ tests) because they feel less stress. Smarter population => higher GDP

Check out Finland's trial in UBI in 2017-2018 and why it failed. More accurately there are ofc some benefits to UBI, but people didn't become more likely to get jobs. No wonder they discontinued the experiment even thou there are some positive effects on people, but that are likely more of a side effect than desired outcome.

Other benefits that even that one had are that it reduces administrative burden and healthcare costs. There have been many other experiments considered to be a success.

yeah i think the Finnish case only showed that UBI isn't the best for fixing unemployment, that's it. But i loved how they took design approach to it on the government level.
