I must admit that (as an industry person myself) I initially resisted the pilot murder-suicide hypothesis for a long time. I stubbornly considered the hijacking, the catastrophic avionics bay fire, etc.

But the precise hand-flown navigation at the FIR boundaries until NOPEK followed by a due south course shows intent and proficiency characteristic of a pilot who knows what he’s doing.

It’s one of those wicked problems where no hypothesis is fully satisfactory — which makes this mystery absolutely maddening

We need closure on this so bad. It's the JFK assassination of our time.
