Nobody I’ve met in climate science believes we’ll stay within 2°C of warming by 2100, let alone 1.5°C. We’re supposed to reduce GHG by 43% by 3020, and the current NDCs put us on track to 3% (+/- 3 p.p.). We’re at the tail end of the fuck around era. We’re less than a decade away from the find out part.

We’re one feedback loop away from unmitigated disaster - whether than comes from a blue ocean event or the clathrate gun. And we keep rearranging chairs on the deck of the Titanic.
