Anyone else think this sounds interesting? https://blog.ethereum.org/2024/02/07/epf-study-group I'm trying to decide whether I'll be completely out of my depth if I sign up... I'm not a proper developer but have an okay understanding of and familiarity with Ethereum - and always enjoy learning more about it.

No surprises, last year was the hottest on record, globally 1.48°C above preindustrial average: https://climate.copernicus.eu/copernicus-2023-hottest-year-record#:~:text=2023%20is%20confirmed%20as%20the,highest%20annual%20value%20in%202016 Remind me why we put an oil company head in charge of COP again this year?

GM BookFam, question for the group: how likely is it that an (astro)physics guy will be able to get anything from Iain McGilchrist's latest book, The Matter With Things? Does it require a lot of deep background knowledge of neuroscience, psychology etc (which I don't have) to be worth reading?

Shout out to @lefteris.eth for his ridiculously fast tech support for the fantastic Rotki! Literally answered my question and solved my issue in less than 60 seconds from me posting it. If you want a privacy preserving portfolio app, made by a legend, I highly recommend rotki.com. Not a paid ad, I'm just appreciative!

Paging anyone who knows David @mihal or any other Arbitrum delegates. Their L2 is hours away from passing a governance vote to give 4M ARB to incentivize Lido's LSTs. I really don't think L2s should be bankrolling a threat to the credible neutrality of Ethereum L1.

Has anyone read David Runciman's new book 'The Handover'? I haven't, but it sounds like an interesting look at the history of current human governance structures. Do you (dear reader) have an opinion on whether it's worth adding to my already pretty long backlist?

I've finally turned my idea for reducing the risk of Lido's dominance into a post on Eth Research: https://ethresear.ch/t/reducing-lst-dominance-risk-by-decoupling-attestation-weight-from-attestation-rewards/16523 Gotta be better than social slashing...

Does anyone know any novels where the 'antagonist' turns out to be 'Moloch' /coordination failures of ordinary people, rather than an actively bad person/group? They must exist but I'm drawing a blank.
