The greatest mystery in the world is how anyone can reach adult age and yet not understand how thermostats work. Like, we get it, Teresa, you’re cold. But turning off the AC entirely is not how any of this works

What bothers me isn’t that people are hot or cold — it’s that they don’t simply adjust the thermostat slowly and in small increments (like, half a degree at a time) until they’re comfortable. Instead, they either yank it to some unreasonable extreme temperature, or shut it down completely, leading to everybody being uncomfortable and fighting over the settings. It’s pure Moloch in action

patience is a virtue that has been lost by most people. we want it now! can't wait 10 minutes... it's like those who push the car to arrive earlier but don't understand that they will just waste double the gasoline to gain like 1 or 2 minutes on a trip of 30 min
