How about instead of locking things, the rewards increase the longer you hold? Then people will be encouraged to hold longer without keeping them from exiting if they must for whatever financial reason and it would keep huge dumps from happening when things are unlocked because more people would exit at different times. Too many of us have been hurt by locked staking before. It is a terrible feeling to watch a coin crash and not be able to get out because you are locked in for a long term. I love DEGEN but I've seen lots of things that had tons of community support riding high for 3-12 months or more and then crash suddenly. It could happen here too. It's not fun to be exit liquidity for others.

Omgggg, this is actually the wayyy! 💜 To add to it, what if you also had the option to lock-up DEGEN for further rewards? Where each month you lock your DEGEN, gives increasing rewards on top of the rewards for long holding DEGEN? Getting the best of both worlds! 10 $degen 🍖 x100

Yeah, I imagine that actual staking will be needed vs just holding in a wallet, but I don’t like the idea of it being locked. As someone who (smart or not) has done most of their crypto trying to time good buys and sells, not being able to do that freely really makes me anxious. I don’t like time locking. But I have stayed in staking longer than otherwise when rewards kept accruing. That made it worth the risk of losing a good window to sell, sometimes.

Yeah, that's true. I completely forgot about staking! Much better than locking it in and, it has the same postives but without the anxiety (life gives me enough of that tbh 😅) As you said, what's most important is having the freedom to act when you feel you need to.
