Does anyone know why it takes so long for location to update on Super when you change it on Warpcast? Where is the ground truth for the Location that is displayed in Warpcast/Super?

I’d heard of studying while smelling rosemary to help you remember more but never dove deeper. Looks like the nose stuff is right there with the emotional/memory stuff:

I’m not old enough to call my broker… E*Trade from the start, but when I can call Bankr on the phone and order crypto, I might start dressing differently…

I’ve decided that the 🦭 emoji is the clearest way to communicate approval for things at home and at work. 👍 ,👌 ,❤️ are all ambiguous. The 🦭 of approval is all signal.

Everything I’m reading says quantum computing uses very little power and anyone I’ve talked to inside the quantum companies say it uses a lot of power. 🤔 My conclusion so far is that building a stable environment (near absolute zero temps, no shaking) for quantum computing is significantly harder than building the quantum computer. Anyone working on this?

The AI data center boom is a great example of Jevons paradox that basically says: Efficiency doesn’t lower consumption, it often unlocks new ways to consume. Fossil fuel production is more efficient than ever and the assumption has been that if we lower emissions per unit of energy, we’ll have lower emissions. Nope. We now need 10x the units of energy. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jevons_paradox

Still on this journey…. accredited investor verification onchain seems lazy. There’s something like $140T in “professionally managed” wealth and if they want to invest in something new they have to “onboard” to every platform (Securitize, INX, tzero, etc). When platforms have to home grow their own investor onboarding it becomes just another random brokerage house with no liquidity and sort of anti-crypto. Has anyone seen any projects with income verification (plaid API or other?) rolled into a zk proof? A one time accreditation that keeps people anonymous and could be integrated across all platforms?

🥜 The 2024 growth projects for the U.S. power grid are over 100 GW higher than 2022 growth projections. To put that in perspective, that’s about 10 New York City’s worth of new demand to be met in the next 5 years. Current wait time for new interconnection to the U.S. power grid is more than 5 years.
