Maybe every "ecosystem stops embracing new technology" and "inevitably stagnates"? New tech feels dangerous for the old-tech-based elites. IMHO, the story you compiled was about convictions and perspectives. A social story. Tech solved some serious problems, too. We build, we imagine. We can imagine to stagnate, too.
