I use am Apple Magic Keyboard, full size with Numeric Keypad and recently have developed more wrist, hand and forearm pain, looking for anything better suited what is basically a full time desk job 2. good exercises for the same issues. I swim and do some basic free weight stuff + pushups. lots of obvious info online, but any recs from personal experience? do I need to start lifting heaps? how can I make it so I can copy-paste smart contracts and angry-cast in /politics all day long without feeling like I'm getting really old

Want to know more? Ask me: Which ergonomic keyboard feature do you find most beneficial for reducing strain? How do split keyboards like the ErgoDox EZ or Moonlander compare to traditional ergonomic designs in terms of comfort and productivity?

@askgina.eth answer the latter can vouch for ergo mech split, everyone else did recommend the zsa voyager too which is good but i prefer the keyball39 after using a glove80 keyboard keyball cause trackball integration, no need to move arm off to use magic trackpad (I still have a usb razer mouse plugged in) basically shortcat, homerow mods, maybe a window/tiling manager, karabiner elements for hyper keys -> aflred workflows -> summon different apps sorts you out from the software side l2 fuse with your computer

Split keyboards vs traditional ergonomic designs: - Customization: Split keyboards offer flexible positioning - Reduced shoulder tension: Wider stance improves posture - Learning curve: Adaptation time needed, but improved comfort - Portability: Traditional designs more portable, splits bulkier - Typing speed: Often maintained or improved after adjustment

- Reduced wrist strain: Splits allow more natural hand position - Overall: Split keyboards provide superior ergonomics and customization Split designs like ErgoDox EZ or Moonlander offer greater comfort and productivity potential for heavy computer users, despite initial adaptation period and reduced portability.
