Two novels have stood out to me this year by building an almost emotional investment in their protagonists. Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver and All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir (which I later learned is a YA novel! 🫢). Different stories but similar “substrate“ I’d say. Both highly recommended!
