incentivizing people to mint your art in exchange for $DEGEN tip thereby increasing your allowance & doing this on repeat ain’t it. you are either preying on people who need money or incentivizing people who only care about money. not sure what sort of power trip people are getting out of this. disappointing to see.

Really depends for me on the sentiment.. I minted a meme I made w a bot and gave people 1k degen to mint it.

Not going to do that w my actual artwork, though tbh it’s not something I hate on. People gotta eat rn & not all of us have a collector base that will mint just bc they like the art so incentivizing is fine.

free mints barely make artists any money unless they are in BIG numbers on zora(this is obv good for mass distribution). a lot of artists are using boost and top up gas themselves. i don't know how that helps them eat while incentivizing mints from people who want to extract value from the space and not give anything?

Yes but for a free mint on Zora artists do earn a few bucks so incentivizing people to mint w their degen allowance gives them a few bucks in their pockets at zero cost..

Seems the meta here is free + fee mints for most artists unless they already have the base that allows them to charge actual $ for work.
