If distributing CSAM is protected under your definition of free speech, your definition of free speech is fucking fucked mate.

I'm not saying this is a 1:1 for what's going on, but imagine for a minute you create a very successful 'everything app' that allows for file sharing, private chat rooms, even payments. Now imagine you're making millions in annual revenue from these services, but you find out some people are using them to do some really bad stuff, do you: 

A) Turn a blind eye, continue to facilitate and make revenue from this activity on your platform 

B) Invest in a fairly robust moderation/T&S team to attempt to curb this activity as much as possible 

C) Make a good faith effort to mitigate the activity for as cheap as you can

Or D) Something else?

I think CSAM can be too often wielded to take the nuance out of complicated speech issues, (might be justified in this case), but I think the profiteering/blind eye angle helps people understand the moral failure more clearly.
