Eureka Seven became a legendary anime thanks to its ability to blend the mecha genre with a deep romance story between Renton and Eureka, supported by rich and original worldbuilding through the concept of "lifting" and a detailed post-apocalyptic setting with Scub Coral, its courage to tackle complex themes like racism and war in a mature way, and the stunning animation quality by studio Bones and Naoki Sato's memorable soundtrack - all these elements are woven into a touching coming-of-age story about love, sacrifice, and self-discovery that remains relevant even almost 20 years after its release in 2005.
