"You should build this feature" "You should make this small quality of life improvement" "You raised a bunch of money why can't you also X" Focus. Not claiming to be world-class at it. Varun is much better at focus than I am—I get distracted by shiny new things all the time. But ultimately you only have a fixed number of "shots on goal" before you lose momentum (and in other cases, funding). Have to constantly be asking yourself is this the highest priority thing we can work on? And if everything is high priority, then you're not focused. Of the 18 or so people at Merkle, I think I know where 3/18 went to college. College is helpful for career if: 1. You major in something with hard skills 2. In the US, you got to a school that gives you an initial professional network But after your first or second job, most places just care about what you've done at the previous job (or built on your own).

Coming soon We will be working with developers / projects that want to give users airdrops. We’ll indicate what the developer is hoping to accomplish with the airdrop. Users that 1) opt in 2) do the desired action—use a frame, engage in a channel, etc.—will start to develop reputation as a good user to offer future airdrops to. Users that opt in, receive airdrops and don’t do the desired action will develop a reputation as a user to avoid offering airdrops. Ultimately, developers get to decide who to target (the data is permissionless). But I suspect airdrops on Farcaster will start to reward usage / go forward alignment. First airdrop next week!

Aya first shared the idea of transitioning from ED of @ethereumfndn to President a year ago. She has accomplished much in her seven years as executive director of the EF. As I see it, the role of an ED is to create an environment where others can shine and do their best work, and so every success of the EF - the steady execution of Ethereum hard forks, client interop workshops, Devcon, Ethereum's culture and steadfast commitment to its mission and values, and more - is in part a result of Aya's stewardship. @AyaMiyagotchi will continue supporting the EF in many of the same ways in her new role. No. And I'm also not a capitalist. Both are 20th century ideologies. (And they are words that have been stretched and abused to the point of meaninglessness: remember, in the 1990s, Microsoft called Linux "communist": https://www.theregister.com/2000/07/31/ms_ballmer_linux_is_communism/ ) I support freedom, global equality of opportunity, kindness and cooperation, human welfare and progress. These are timeless principles. The question is how to use the tools we have available to achieve these values in the context of the 21st century. I've written at length about the kinds of mechanisms I personally support, but I definitely do not think that I am the only source of good ideas, I think figuring out the best approach is a shared project of both thinking and also increasingly real world experimentation.
