all of other successful consumer apps have been started by engineers and i doubt any had marketers as one of the 10 first hires

few. engineering with growth skills is the highest leverage. marketing alone won't build repeatable viral loops. quite a few of those engineers are growth/product first but very few realize this. they spend to much time focusing on titles.

yep, just looking at @deodad @horsefacts.eth posts and questions + many others on the team makes this clear.

though I doubt it also is a function of selective realities and lack of ability to differentiate from some of the folks stating it's pure engineering
