working at a pre-PMF startup requires a change in perspective when it comes to quality. you can't afford to ship everything 95% polished, because you can't afford to invest that much effort in ideas which are likely to flop ship as much quality as it's possible, but not much more until you find PMF. then go WILD

what are some examples of apps that invested into quality only once they hit pmf? i my experience, the quality can only go down over time, never up

don’t know any. ship your unique features high quality, leave the table stakes like team or account pages imo. poor quality work gets no users especially early adopters who try so many things.

on second thought, cursor maybe but they ship ridiculously fast. that being said, zed grew more as quality first and overtook them IMO. so Idk maybe I'm a consumer with high taste. I would rather not eat than eat 💩 I think they all hyper prioritize ICPs and say countless no's and the only way you can do that is knowing who you are selling. a dev is not a dev is not a dev. there are kinds of devs. the kind that value ease of use (vercel) or economy (aws). not the same kinds of ppl at all.
