Suggestion To Improve Rewards Algo *** Build Up Farcaster Upper-Middle Class Not a complaint--true suggestion. We are seeing casts about 'points freezing.' I think there's an issue. (more in thread) But I think there's a connected & bigger issue: The algo doesn't love the upper-middle class of FCers Algo rightly weights OGs/auto-follows (Maybe too much, but np) Algo also is great for newcomers as we've seen 10-12 times in the top10 (Love it!) BUT, a lot of great FCers are in the 2K-15K & not OG/auto-follow. They are, however, some of the most thoughtful, discerning, engaging FCers. You can see the algo doesn't love or often like them. I can get numerous r/c, comments, likes from them & get no points from them on a 'good' cast. On others I can get similar Middle class action & get a couple interactions from OG/AF types & get numerous points all from the OG/AFs. I love Rewards & benefit from it. Not sure what upper-middle class is. Kinda like to think I'm in that. But how would you define it?

You are either OG/Autofollow or Upper Middle Class....depending on how the algo affects you. I'm trying to define a class of great, thoughtful, discerning FCers who are not being weighted in the algo like the OG/auto follow crowd and in fact their interactions often give no points b/c the algo doesn't like them. Could be 2K or 50k followers....could be here a long time or a few months. I could give examples and maybe I will have to some time. Does that help?

I was just curious about the classifications. Not in any way criticising your feedback. I think there is a enormous group of casters that are really very much worth interacting with, but who fall outside of the algo favours. I was really just curious about the categorisation you use. OG/Autofollow, does that mean the low-digit fids who were once referred to as the Faristocracy? Or is it holders of the OG NFT? I must say, that I thought I would not easily qualify for the rewards, as my follower count is totally skewed due me being in a list for some random reason when a wave of new users came in. But then I made the top 200 this week. So, I really don't understand the reward system. I do like getting the rewards, but I will mainly focus on other 'wins' here.

Agreed on all points. The 'enormous group of casters that are really very much worth interacting with, but who fall outside of the algo favours' are basically what I'm calling the Upper Middle Class for the sake of this suggestion. OG/Autofollow in my mind is not OG NFT but low FID and there was a point that everybody who joined autofollowed a group of those people. Obviously some of the greatest people here and should be weighted in the Rewards algo. Congrats on the rewards! Agreed on the other wins. Nobody really knows how the algo works, but I enjoy paying attention and trying to make it better. 😁 👊 I think it's amazing that the team does it and see people post with questions and frustrations and I see my role here to be a part of helping with stuff like that.
