it shouldn’t be nearly impossible to relax. you shouldn’t have to spend hours a day trying to regulate your nervous system. and you shouldn’t feel like a failure because meditation isn’t curing you that used to be me. i constantly felt unsafe and like i was failing because all the methods and hacks in the world weren’t making me better some would say i should just fix my life if it’s so stressful, but i did. i spent years creating my dream life, and the anxiety only got louder—once i eliminated the noise and chaos, there were fewer things to distract me from it the only thing that has truly helped has been addressing the underlying trauma (and corresponding beliefs) that programmed my nervous system to believe i’m constantly in danger with complex trauma there’s no overnight cure, but i finally feel i have a map to guide me out of the maze. and there are far more days where i can just live my life without it being an epic battle to convince my nervous system i’m not about to die

thank you! most mindfulness and relaxation techniques are definitely surface level. i was exploring this guy’s teachings a bit after seeing the post below and it’s probably the closest i’ve found to something that resonates with my process. the idea of using mindfulness to not just observe thoughts but to address the root cause of the thoughts/feelings/beliefs https://warpcast.com/christin/0x897c6d0e
