When they have passions that are not mine, it's an opportunity for me to learn new things about the world and expand my horizon. The passions you have will rub off on them anyway, and it will bring new dimensions of it to your life as a parent. But I agree with @nonlinear.eth & @links: they are on their path and it's my job to help them find the path they enjoy most.
