1 week ~1200 reviews ~500 bookmarks ~950 users More people have tried out this version of /nook with roughly the same amount of DAUs already. Shows the value of building within Warpcast initially using Farcaster legos. Was able to try out the idea in basically a week and now can decide if we want to invest further.

Looks like people have realized that court documents are public statements and are well on their way to optimizing around that reality. https://x.com/Kyrannio/status/1820551242353189217

One way to look at the possible effects of deepfakes in politics is to look at "shallow fakes" that have been possible for a long time. For example, this screenshot purporting to be a "you're free to say whatever nasty stuff you want" whitelist for twitter. I actually have no idea if this is real or fake, but there definitely are some people who are treating it as real, imo without sufficient evidence. And yet, the effects of things like this are pretty bounded. This feels like a plausible outcome for deepfakes in politics. The smart people know not to trust a politician's statements without confirmation on official channels, and less smart people get tricked, as they do today with shallow fakes. If something fake goes viral, Community Notes can help on the margin in making it clear that it's fake. Most normies don't actually look at this stuff in real time, and so the effect ends up not too bad. This is the strongest case for not being too worried. The place where I am *more* worried about deepfakes is...

here is one thing i designed this week for /icebreaker it's one of the most glorious components i've made. we are adding hypernetwork capabilities in the coming weeks, starting with Farcaster so want to indicate that on the network chip at all locations in the app this component allows easy configuration of the many states the chip can exist in. the mock here shows the subcomponents, and on the right you can see the Booleans & Nested instance controls i will be reusing this heavily in mocks so great to take the extra time to componentize here before moving forward. this is actually now really easy compared to how it used to be thanks to nested variants :) have a great weekend, designoooors!
