How to teach tennis to a 3-yo? Got a basket with a bunch of balls and am just sitting in my backyard throwing him balls for fun. Anyone with experience on exercises to keep him excited and train some technique? Thanks y'all!

I researched for a decade on cell therapy - ultra focused on optimization of multiple molecular details to make effective therapies. The last weeks in patient care helped me zoom out and see a much bigger picture. Much needs improvement on the bench to bedside journey of drug development.

A big change is coming in January, starting a 7 year training for hematology and oncology. Truly believe the daily contact with patients and therapies will strengthen the research hypothesis I will continue developing in my labs. Time to listen, time to learn, time to help.

2yo first night without pacifier - the first hours were just brutal. A part of him was missing and he realised it was not coming back.

One of my students is publishing his first, first author, manuscript! Such a nice moment! Don’t think there is anything more gratifying than having a motivated student!

2yo: Dad go away! Me: Won’t you be afraid if I’m not here to hold your hand? 2yo: Leave your hand here and go.

Very humbling month. Daughter born, plenty of ups and downs for her and the mother. Rug pulled at work, hard. Underestimated how family nearby can buffer the unexpected. Will be gladly taking a step back on career to optimize for family well-being. One step back, for many more to come forward.

We too in, our lives, must defragment every so often. Just like some of us did to our old PC’s back a while ago. We hoard tasks, wishes, hobbies, connections and what not - spreading time as a thin until it holds no more. Bad habit, fragmenting too much.

I am asked to expedite the my decision-making processes at work. Take quick actions and learn from mistakes. While I think this can work well for short-term projects that yield results rapidly, I’m seeing serious implications for long-term goals.

Time is short. Probably will never be able to accept that I will not have enough time to build and do everything I have to - the anger that steams from this is such a powerful performance boost.

Best gift this Christmas - my son’s smile when his cousin’s arrived home. Those little troublemakers love each other.

Any good blogs/book/reads on managing styles in corporative environments? The purpose would be have a better understanding of the psychology behind decisions of my colleagues and feed that into better predictions. If that makes any sense 💭
