I researched for a decade on cell therapy - ultra focused on optimization of multiple molecular details to make effective therapies.

The last weeks in patient care helped me zoom out and see a much bigger picture. Much needs improvement on the bench to bedside journey of drug development.

Both hematologic and solid tumors. But the model I used to work with the most was pancreatic adenocarcinoma. T cell based therapies are mostly ineffective in this disease due to suppressive cues in the tumor microenvironment and poor immune cell infiltration.
